She Defies Empires earrings carry the spirit of Queen Zenobia, the warrior queen of Palmyra who looked at the greatest empire the world had ever seen and declared war. Drawing from the jewellery traditions of the ancient Levant and brought to life by the hands of Nepali artisans, each element of this piece tells the story of a woman who conquered territories, rode into battle alongside her soldiers, and negotiated her own survival when Rome finally came for her. History forgot her name. This earring remembers it.

DESIGN & MANUFACTURE

Drawing from the architectural jewellery traditions of ancient Palmyra, the bezel-set square stone, the structured horizontal bar, and the suspended pendant drops characteristic of third-century Levantine ornament, this piece reinterprets Zenobia's era through a contemporary lens. The turquoise square stone references the vivid colours of the ancient Levant, revered as a stone of protection and power. The three deep blue accent sapphires represent the three territories Zenobia conquered — Egypt, Asia Minor, and the Levant. She Defies Empires is individually hand-finished by Nepali artisans, ensuring no two pairs are exactly alike.

• Use soft lint free cloth
• Store in a dark, cool and dry place within the box provided. This will reduce tarnishing, scratching and tangling.
• When transporting jewelry, ensure it is kept within a box so no external pressure is accidentally applied.
• Remove jewelry when in water and avoid spraying perfume or applying creams where your jewelry will have contact.
• Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity and sunlight. Any contact with perfumes, cosmetics and chemicals will cause discoloration.

Stone

• Never wear around hot water, harsh chemicals or cleaners.
• Clean with a soft, damp cloth after wearing. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean as they can cause scratching.
